We took the cubs to the zoo on October 3rd. It was a beautiful day, and they did far better this time than all of our previous visits. Emily used to cry and cling to Daddy, now she totally embraced the experience. It was so much fun watching them.
Monkeys first. Always!
"No, mom. I don't see the resemblance. He looks nothing like me."
Hmmmm, how about now??
Definitely looks like Em and Zach when fighting over the same toy.
"Look, mom. An EL-fant."
Trying to imitate the flamingos. Opposite legs even...my little mirror twins.
Doesn't look like Em is digging the Komodo Dragon.
A little too "hands-on" for mom. Note to self: don't leave the hand sanitizer in the car.
"Look, Mom. It's Zach."
"Mom...it looks like Emily."
Here are a few more pictures of the other animals (besides our cubs) that were at the zoo.

Watch out for wild bear cubs
Last Saturday, Steve and I took the cubs to the zoo. Reminder: our previous zoo visit was not a pretty one. Emily had the death grip on Steve the entire time and Zach didn't pay any attention to any of the animals. This visit went much better. Zach was a little wild, I even had to use his harness (which I affectionately call his leash), because he was constantly on the go. One look away and he was gone, so that made it a little difficult, but otherwise the latest zoo trip was a success!

All the cubs at the zoo.
On Friday we took the cubs to the zoo. It was a beautiful day and I was looking forward to it. Steve took them while I was in Las Vegas, but this was my first time to go with them, and I couldn't wait to see the excitement on their little faces. Yeah, maybe next time. We didn't get much reaction at all. Nada. Zilch. The closest thing to a reaction was Emily clutching Daddy's shirt until her little knuckles turned white. She was afraid of everything. Zach couldn't have cared less. I tried to point out animals to him and he was always looking over my shoulder at something else. **SIGH** At least we got some good pics of some of Mommy's and Daddy's favorite animals:
The bald eagle:
Someone else's monkeys (not ours, although I see a little resemblance):
Tiger and cubs:
Momma Lion and her four cubs (God bless her):
Our cubs, all tuckered out after their exciting trip to the zoo:
