SUNday

Today is SUNday...the SUN is bright, the air is thick, and it feels like a sauna outside. I took the cubs to Target this morning just to get them out of the house. Steve had to work and I felt guilty keeping them all cooped up. We left the house at 10:00 am and it was already dreadfully hot outside. Today was a level red pollution advisory. No doubt about that, it was hot, humid, with no breeze. The air actually seemed "thick" to breathe. It's going to be a rough Texas summer.

Emily is becoming a master walker. She can now turn, stand up to walk without pulling up on the furniture, and she even does laps around the living room. She is so darn cute, she just waddles around everywhere. She is so proud of herself and we're proud of her too. She is also picking up speed with her walking, but with that comes a little more unsteadiness. She has fallen a few times, and has a couple of bruises to show for it. Unfortunately those bruises are on her face. One above the eye where she hit a table, and two on the cheek where she hit Mommy's knee. Poor baby looks terrible.

We've been giving her some new foods. On Friday she tried some broccoli and white rice from Daddy's plate, and today she has some of the Gerber turkey stew with chunky vegetables. As expected, she did great!

Zach is doing pretty well with his new formula/milk mixture. He does pretty well with his solids but still won't eat anything with any chunks in it. I even tried Quaker oatmeal instead of the Gerber oatmeal and that was a big mistake. He also won't drink from the sippy cup. He puts it to his mouth and CHEWS on it. Mommy finds this very frustrating. Today I bought two new cups for him to try. Surely I will be able to find something he likes. Picky little man!

He has restarted his walking efforts. I guess he figured out that Emily is a little harder to keep up with now and crawling just won't do. Pretty soon both cubs will be running around the house. What a frightening thought!

Your doing a great job being a mommy of two. Enjoy reading your journal as it helps us feel like we are there with you.

Checked out the flicker site and it's been awhile since any pictures have been uploaded. Would love to see how you have reconfigured the "jail" to allow the cubs a larger "den".
